Giving Cheddar is Better

As far as grocery store go-to brands, I love the family-farm owned Cabot Co-op Creamery.

I've always seen them as the Ben & Jerry's of cheese - they have a quality product at a national level, they are from Vermont, and they give back to the community.

They are a sponsor of my beloved National Public Radio, as you no doubt hear as a listener in between hours of Morning Edition.  I volunteer during pledge drives at my local NPR station, KEDT, and they supplied us with reusable shopping bags, coupons, and CHEESE! I came home with a tomato basil cheddar.

It's very cool that Cabot is hip on social media. They tweet and give back to the community virtually on their Facebook page through their campaign Random Acts of Cheddar.  You can cheddar it forward by nominating a good friend, local hero, anyone you think deserves cheese and they may be chosen! Giving cheese as a gift is ALWAYS a good thing.

I would love to take a vacation up to Vermont and tour the "cheese making tour." As a child, my parents took me on afternoon trips to Vermont and getting to taste Vermont cheddar straight from the source was always a highlight.

I have yet to try the clothbound Cabot cheddar, but it's on my wish list!
