I haven't forgotten about you, little lambs! My week has been so stressful I'm lucky if I have a moment to breathe, never mind blog.
Alas, here is a video I recorded on October 28th, featuring a young Marieke Gouda. I adore the Holland's Family Cheese story - Rolf and Marieke are a couple from the Netherlands that moved to Wisconsin in 2002. They make goudas using an Old World recipe and specialize in flavored goudas. I prefer the aged gouda, but I'm itching to try the Honey Clover flavor. A gouda of theirs we often feature at the Dairymaids is Cumin Gouda, which is a big seller for us. Cumin Gouda took first place at the American Cheese Society's flavored gouda category this year.
Most of all I love Holland's Family Cheese because they have a foursquare account. Do you know of another cheesemaker who does? Tell me! Granted, they haven't done much with their foursquare, but it's featured on their website and in their print advertising. High five!
I may look a little Dutch dressed as (a very sleepy) Little Bo Peep in this video:
